Obituary for Maria Luisa Santos

Maria died peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the age of 89. A wonderful wife and mother, magnificent cook and great storyteller, she will be forever missed as the mighty matriarch of our family.
Her memory will be eternally cherished by her loving husband, Graciano, with whom she shared a brilliant love that spanned over 66 years. She was loving mother to beloved only daughter Maria (Asdrubal), adored grandmother to Diane (Enrico) and Denise (Russell), and proud great-grandmother to her two great-grandchildren Justin and Sophia, who affectionately called her “big grandma.” She will be held dear in the hearts of all her family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Vescio Funeral Home in Toronto (2080 Dufferin Street, North of Rogers Road, 416-656-3332) for family and friends. The funeral mass and entombment will take place in Portugal. Donations can be made in her memory to the Harold & Grace Baker Centre at http://www.bakercentre.com/ where she was well cared for in the last years of her life.
